Sonic Spa Volume 2 New Horizon

Welcome to another release of Sonic Spa. It’s Volume 2 – New Horizon -
music for relaxing, wellness, dreaming and much more.

The songs of this album are inspired by holidays at the seaside, by the
waves and the wind, sunny days and chilly nights.

During the last decade I‘ve travelled many countries from America to
Africa and Europe.

Switch

What switch?

Switching to another style? I won’t! My “switch” was from PC to Mac. No discussion what’s best. I love my new iMac. It’s by far the best machine I’ve used so far.

In the meanwhile there is a new album nearly ready for publishing. There are only a few final touches to be made. So please hold the line for a new chapter of “Sonic Spa” – New Horizon.

New Album out now!

After six month of work my new Album “Sonic Spa Volume 1 Endless Dream” is available as free download on Jamendo.

The music was primarily made for listening in our own spa and wellness area at home but I hope it will work anywhere to relax and to recreate yourself.

As you may guess from the title, there will be more, a “Volume 2” and maybe another one, who knows …

Recent work

In the autumn of 2010 we decided to built a small sauna in our home. Meanwhile we created a pretty nice wellness aera.

At the same time I’ve moved my studio from Neuss to my new home in Willich and bought a new computer for my digital audio workstation.
“This stuff has to be good for something; go ahead and make some real nice music for wellness we might hear in our new sauna”, said Isi.

There’s many stuff out there, call it New Age or what ever you may think.
I wanted to make something different, something without panpipes, Indian Folk and so on.
Most of the tunes are pure electronic with extensive use of my favorite KOMPLETE-bundle by Native Instruments and only very few samples.

So the results of my retreat to the studio will be present at Jamendo very soon. Some tunes failed the test of Isi, my most critical fan but more passed the test with a thumb up!

So please come back soon and listen …

New album out

Friends,

after nearly one year of work my new album “Dusty Road” is out now.

Dusty Road is a journey through my home, the Rine area north of
Cologne and south of Krefeld.

It took a while to publish because I moved my studio to my new home and I got a new computer for my Digital Audio Workstation.
It’s a custom built audio-pc and I am still amazed about its power )).

Eastside

On December, 9 my new album Eastside was released on Jamendo. It has been inspired by a wonderful midsummer trip to Berlin, mainly the eastern part of the town which is a lot more fascinating then the old western part of the city.

The German capital has always been one of my favorite towns and I am very interested in its changeful history, especially this year, 20 years after the fall of the Wall.
Everytime you go there you will discover something new and also realize that some things never change.

Note: This album took a while to finish. I am an “in-the-box”-guy which means I only use my computer to record, mix and master my music. First I switched to Pro Tools this fall and a lot of very interesting new plugins have been released. The Softplug tools, the Elysia mpressor and SPL’s Vitalizer represent this new generation as well as the stuff from 112db.

Recent work

I’m working on an album about the impressions of Berlin in Summer. This year in June, my girlfriend and me visited this wonderful city. I think this was my seventh or eighth trip to the German capital. Everytime you go there you will discovre another city, it’s amazing.

The work on this album will still take a while as I have changed to Pro Tools early in September under lucky circumstances. Thanks to the German magazine KEYS and Digisdesign for complete production kit.
I have worked with Cubase so far and it will be a lot of learning to do to “drive” Pro Tools …

So stay tuned until the new album will be released, approximatley at the end of November.

Tube Tech

I think this year there’s something going on in the “plugin scene”
Softube just released the Tube Tech CL1B Compressor as a native version for the use in all VST/AU/RTAS hosts It’s no longer restricted to the hardware dongle called Powercore.
Nothing more to say, just download the plugin for a 10-days demo and you’ll be amazed by it.
